Hello, my name is Mac, and I’m here to guide you through the Chronoscape for the first time! You’ve probably seen some neat dragons running around and want one of your own, right? Let’s get you on a fast track to getting your first dragon and Rider duo. This guide takes about fifteen minutes to complete.
The first thing you see upon logging in is your profile. This is a hub to show all your characters, inventory, posts, comments, quests, and so on. You can choose to make this private. To learn more, you can complete the Profile Quest. For now, let’s keep going towards your first characters!
Step One: Picking Your Element
There are ten basic elements in the group. Each one represents a different kind of dragon. Choose one that you like. You can find out more about each element by clicking the gemstones on the top menu, but for now, go with your gut choice based on appearance and personality. You can have as many Riders and dragons as you like, with no limits on how frequently you can submit them to the game.
Element | Inspiration | Favored Trait | Appearance |
Light Dragons | Kirins | Charisma | ![]() |
Fire Dragons | Western Dragons | Vengeance | ![]() |
Jungle Dragons | Fairy Dragons | Cleverness | ![]() |
Thunder Dragons | Artificial Dragons | Intelligence | ![]() |
Earth Dragons | Saurian Dragons | Strength | ![]() |
Ocean Dragons | Sea Serpents | Compassion | ![]() |
Storm Dragons | Wyverns | Chaos | ![]() |
Wind Dragons | Rocs | Loyalty | ![]() |
Dark Dragons | Mist Dragons | Perception | ![]() |
Metal Dragons | Armored Dragons | Purity | ![]() |
Step Two: Making a Rider
Have you picked your favorite yet? Look at the element’s favorite personality trait. The personality part is very important. Dragons wait to hatch until they sense a Rider with their favorite personality. Now that you have an element in mind, develop a Rider based on that element’s favorite trait. There are other subtle traits Riders can have, but let’s stick with the basics for now. Write three sentences (more is good, but optional!) about your Rider and their personality. If you want, you can also combine the traits of two elements and your Rider can raise dragons of either element. They can raise any number of dragons, as long as one of their elements matches your Rider’s official element. Your Rider can be any species, any gender, and can come from any universe. They don’t even need to be humanoid! However, avoid using copyrighted material or species unless you have permission from the species owner.
Step Three: Choosing a Dragon
Once you have your short Rider biography, it’s time to find a dragon for them! You can view the hatchery by clicking this link. There are a lot of weird things like markings, modifiers, mutations, and it can be intimidating to learn about them. Some of them can even change before they’re born. That’s why you should go ahead and ignore them for your first adoption! You can always adopt more dragons later. Instead, focus on the element.

In this example, the element is THUNDER and the ID# is A29.
Step Four: Adopting Your Dragon
Find a few dragons with the element(s) you want and fill out the following form:
Username: (the username you want)
Rider: (put a link to the paragraph you wrote in sta.sh!)
Egg Choice #1: (put EGG ID# and egg info)
Egg Choice #2: (put EGG ID# and egg info)
Egg Choice #3: (put EGG ID# and egg info)
Adoption #: 1/3
Once you have your form, click this link and reply to this comment to get your first dragon! You will even get a newbie badge on your profile to show that you’re an official member. Welcome to the group!
