Do I need to sign up for this?
As a member of the group, you already have an account! Check your notes for information. If you’re unable to find the note, or if you lost your account info, just note @ccbestiary and we will fix things up.
How do I comment?
At the bottom of each page, you will see a reply box. Type your comment in there and hit ‘reply!’
What kind of formatting can I do?
Although everything copies in plaintext, you can use any html formatting. That includes colored text, image thumbnails, links, you name it. We only require a simple link, but feel free to make things fancy. If you google ‘html text generator’ you can find all sorts of silly things.
What sites can I host my art on?
Any sites where we can publicly see them. Please note that if you use the characters of others, you should adhere to their gift art rules. Someone who needs a @ tag requires art of their character to be hosted on deviantart! As an aside, we highly recommend changing your personal gift art rules to ‘notify me via deviantart, toyhouse, etc.’ so that people can still use your characters comfortably. Eventually, ccbestiary will gain the functionality to host your art on the site itself!
How do I easily make thumbnails or links of my character imports?
If your character is uploaded to the site, then you will see a pre-made html markup for them just below the title. Simply copy and paste that wherever you want your thumbnail to be. We are still working hard on getting all imports uploaded! You may link to either the ccbestiary profile or the deviantart profile.
I made a mistake on my comment! How do I fix it?
You can edit your comments for up to three days after posting it. Please note that moderators see any edits in our backend. Editing your comment after it is rolled will not result in an updated roll.
Can I hide my comments?
Comments can’t be deleted, but you can edit them to say [ignore this] or something similar. Only moderators can look up past versions, so no one else knows what was posted previously! If you want to remove a comment over three days old, please contact a moderator.
How am I notified of replies?
If logged in, you receive live notifications on the bottom right side of your screen. You can customize your notification settings on your account page.
Can I preview my replies?
At this time, you cannot preview replies.
Can I invite non-deviants to join the site?
Yes! Contact us via a @ccbestiary note OR via our discord server. We are still setting up how we handle non-deviants, but setting up accounts on an individual basis should be easy enough.
