The Chronoscape, Shérok, and Eredia are huge places to explore! Going on Expeditions allows you to gather more items of a higher quality, encounter bosses, tameable dragons, dragon eggs, unique Familiars, and more. An expedition requires one Rider and at least one of their dragons. A Rider can only go on one Expedition at a time. Once started, an Expedition must be completed before the Rider can go on another.
About Expeditions
To begin an expedition, pick one of the four main activities and put ‘Expedition’ after it as your prompt. In example, you would turn in a ‘Gathering Expedition’ if you are gathering. You may switch tasks throughout the Expedition. You must also select one or two terrains.
You can inspect the loot pools for different locales on the Gathering, Hunting, Salvaging, and Caving pages. When you turn in your first activity, and if you marked it as an Expedition and are otherwise eligible for an Expedition, you will be given two terrain choices. The next part of your Expedition must take place in one of these environments and will have a loot pool corresponding to its element. This will happen up to three times before the Expedition ends. With each progressive step, there is an increased chance of events and the rarity of items increases.
When your dragon encounters an event, the Expedition ends. If a dragon makes it to the third crossroads without encountering a normal event, they will receive a very special bonus. These bonuses range from encountering a Boss, unique items, unique Familiars, dragon eggs, Emissary encounters, and more. The prompt will still need to be illustrated, but the rewards are well worth the journey!
